Maintaining the SCMP Designation

Important changes are coming to the SCMP Maintenance Program

Starting January 1, 2012 the Maintenance of Certification program for those holding the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation will officially become the SCMP Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program.

Not only is the name of the program being changed to better reflect activities undertaken, PMAC will also concurrently launch a new national standard for CPD that sets out the parameters of the program, with details continuing to be administered at the Institute level.

Additionally, Institutes that have not previously been part of the Maintenance of Certification program will now require SCMP designation holders to participate in the enhanced CPD program.

These enhancements to the SCMP CPD program will allow PMAC to ensure that current, common and consistent CPD requirements, which complement the national standard for granting the SCMP designation, are established across the country.
